Look likes the rut is around the corner

The other day on some down time at work I thought it would be fun to go through some old photos I have on my computer.  Looking back through all the fish pictures I had taken over the few years was a fun.  I was able to clean out a few that I did not need to take up space on my harddrive.  I was about to trash one last picture, but then something caught my eye.  I had never noticed this before in the picture and had to rub my eyes a few times.  Antlers....and not just any antlers, but that of what looks like a troutalope.  I could not believe my eyes.  How could I have missed this!  I thought that these where beast of myth and legend made up by vikings as they first discovered North America (screw you Columbus).   Here one was....not more than 40 yards away and I never knew it.  I would not want to screw with one of these bad boys.  If he makes a run at you when hooked....say goodbye!

All I can say is my mind is blow, and the hunt is now on!  $500,000,000,000,0000 to the first man or woman to bring me a picture of a troutalope they caught.  Okay kidding about the money, but I may send you a sticker.  I never knew why I felt uneasy about wading this portion of the stream, and now I know why.....I was in his territory.  Here is a closer look at the beast.

  1. Haha that is too funny. It seriously does look just like a rack.
